Why I selected this individual and/or team and how they will support my success

in the MSN program and as a practicing nurse:

Notes:

Nurse Dinorah is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and she is

knowledgeable about various aspects of nursing practice including emergency care and

medical-surgical nursing. She has been working as a nurse for over a decade in various

departments. She can be an excellent mentor as she has completed her MSN training

and she can assist me with areas such as research and citation thus improving my

academic prowess. She can also provide me with informal support, and this can

motivate me to move forward regardless of the challenges.

Name: Maria Mojena, ARNP

Title: Advance Registered Nurse Practitioner

Organization: New Horizons Community Mental Health Center

Why I selected this individual and/or team and how they will support my success

in the MSN program and as a practicing nurse:

Notes:

Nurse Maria is also a qualified APRN with over 17 years of experience as a nurse;

she worked as a registered nurse for 12 years in the behavioral unit and for the last 5

years, she has been working as an APRN in the community setting. She is experienced

and highly competent and he can guide me to become a competent future APRN. She

can educate me on the provision of primary care that meets the client’s healthcare

needs. Her vast experience as a nurse in the behavioral unit is an added advantage

because she is knowledgeable about the ideal treatment approaches that can be

utilized when dealing with adolescents and adults with behavioral and mental disorders.

I can learn and apply these concepts in my future practice.

Nurse Ocier is a colleague at work; he is passionate about mental health and he

attends numerous seminars where important topics regarding mental health are

discussed. I can benefit immensely from him during my professional journey. He can

teach me about new trends in mental health care that have proven to be effective.

Why I selected this individual and/or team and how they will support my success

in the MSN program and as a practicing nurse:

Notes:

Nurse Felix has been working in the nursing profession for over two decades. He

also comes from Cuba and this shows that we have similar cultural beliefs, and he gives

me a sense of belonging. He can provide a unique support system for me and this is

vital in ensuring that I cope with future stressors in a healthy manner. He is also working

in the behavioral unit; therefore, he can enlighten me on the new therapeutic

approaches that I can use to treat patients with specific mental disorders.
