Critical reflection of your growth and development during your practicum experience in a clinical setting has the benefit of helping you to identify opportunities for improvement in your clinical skills, while also recognizing your strengths and successes. 

Use this Journal to reflect on your clinical strengths and opportunities for improvement, the progress you made, and what insights you will carry forward into your next practicum.

Learning From Experiences

· Revisit the goals and objectives from your Practicum Experience Plan. Explain the degree to which you achieved each during the practicum experience.

These are the 3 original goals I had set. Please see attachment of a simple on how to do this paper utilizing the information provided below.

Objective 1: To complete three comprehensive psychiatric exams independently by the end of week ten during this practicum rotation to improve my assessment skills and gain an understanding of my patient's mental health conditions.

Objective 2: By the tenth week of the practicum quarter, I aim to acquire proficiency in generating and prioritizing a list of six potential psychiatric mental health disorders based on the DSM-VTR standards, utilizing the data obtained from the psychiatric interview.

Objective 3: By the tenth week of the clinical assessment, I will identify five psychological symptoms commonly presented by children and adolescents aged four to eighteen. During the evaluation, I will evaluate a group of five children ranging in age from two to ten years old, as well as a group of five adolescents ranging in age from 12 to 18 years old.

· Reflect on the three (3) most challenging patients you encountered during the practicum experience. What was most challenging about each?

1. A patient with Schizoaffective depressive disorder.

2. A patient with PTSD due to the death of her son.

3. Major Depressive Disorder, Recurrent with suicidal ideations.
