Wild Horse Group Project Reflection

Although I own a horse myself and have been exposed to them my entire life, there is still so much that I don’t know about wild horses. Their contribution to ecology and even historical aspects is far greater than most realize. On the flip side, the conservation efforts that humans have put in place to protect wild horses makes me very proud of our relationship with our environment. Overall, the information that I’ve gathered throughout this project sheds a new light on the respect that I have for the wild horse species and the conservationists putting these efforts in place.

Communication is key in all aspects of life, but communication in relation to our wildlife is gravely important. As humans, we cannot lose touch with reality and the importance of all species within our environment. Without communication, conservation efforts wouldn’t be made to ensure the sustainability of certain species. I now have a new and more personal meaning for the importance of communication.

Example 2

Wild Horse Reflection

I have only been around horses a tiny bit my entire life, so going into this project I did not know much, but this was a good thing because it helped me learn more about a subject that I have never got to know. Horses were a big part of history until the car was invented, but still to this day horses have done much for us and the environment. Wild horses have shed light on new things for me to learn about and have given me more hope for humanity seeing the steps and regulations we have taken to not only help wild horses, but other wild animals to help them on their journey.

Wild horses help disperse seeds through elimination, thereby helping to reseed the landscape they are occupying. Humanity must learn how to regulate it overstepping into nature’s way of doing things, which we are getting better at, but we could still find better ways. This is something I have learned from researching about wildhorses, and how we still have some good left in humanity.
