Marketing GenY Xploit Gaming Console

Creating a new product does not necessarily mean reinventing the wheel, it can be a product that already exists that can be re-engineered with more advanced technology than the competition. According to Karlsson, & Nystrom (2003), “The introduction of a new product on the market can basically be made in two different ways. A product can be either totally new to the market or it can be the result of a major change in an existing product” (p 136). The latest marketing model for the gaming industry consists between two competitors, Microsoft Xbox One X and the Sony PS4, even though the other gaming systems like Nintendo Switch is a gaming system they are not equally comparable. It is time to beef up the competition and incorporate another gaming console that will redefine technology innovations of gaming industries all over the world. Therefore, developing a new product involves product description, market strategy, an industrial and reseller’s marketing that will support production and the sale of the product and discuss potential barriers that might be incorporated.

Product Description

Introducing the new GenY Xploit gaming console into the market arena will give gamers a whole new jolt of gaming experience. The gaming console will introduce a unique design of software compatibility that will allow gamers to perform cross-platform gaming to compete with each other online no matter what gaming console they are using. The hardware capabilities are equal to the Xbox One X and PS4, duplicating the 4K resolutions and push games at sixty frames per second, GenY Xploit will boost larger capacity for resolution with higher Ram and more processing power. The gaming console will also use USB software capabilities to enable gaming accessories, for instance, the HP’s sequencer optical keyboard, the new reactor mouse and the upcoming Mindframe headset, (MAH UNG, 2018), this will enable the most advance technology and power you need to gain respect from other gamers that simply cannot compete.

Industrial Market

Industrial market can be defined as “the set of all individuals and organizations that acquire goods and services that enter into the production of other products or services that are sold, rented, or supplied to others” (Monash University, 2019, p.1). Defining the technology investments for the GenY Xploit will enable the opportunity to collaborate with a Contract Manufacturing (CM) firm for the reason of, expertise, lower cost, speed market and innovation possibilities (Gubata, 2017), this will also allow the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) business to focus more on R&D efforts to stay a head of the game, rather than focusing on manufacturing endeavors. This is also known as the Industrial market research that is,

used as an aid to decision making and concerns the manufacture, selling, and distribution of products with the goal of reducing costs and increasing profits. It considers factors such as the available labor force, location of the firm, export market potential, and use of resources. (Industrial market research, 2007, par. 1)

There are many CM firms around the globe that already have the manufacturing capabilities, technology and hardware to produce gaming consoles that other competitive company’s like Microsoft and Sony already use. Which only makes good business sense to negotiate a contract with a CM firm to produce the GenY Xploit.

Reseller Market

Reseller market are “wholesalers and retailers that buy physical products and resell them again without any reprocessing” (Kerin & Hartley, 2016, p.116). Wholesalers are similar to the middleman that purchase the bigger bulk items that break it down to sizable lots then sale it to retailers without disturbing the goods. The IT industries such as Sony, Microsoft and other IT company’s typically sale their product at retail stores like Best Buy, Walmart, Target and online distributors like Amazon. To reduce the risk of returned damaged goods being exported, the new GenY Xploit will skip the wholesalers and retailers all together and pack the product individually at the CM firms so product can be distributed straight to the front door of the consumer’s home. This will eliminate wholesalers and retailers shipping and handling expenses and increase consumer easement.

Marketing Strategy

Market strategy for the GenY Xploit will be the new blueprint on how gaming consoles will be exploited. The first and most important phase is gaining trust and respect from the consumer. The second phase is to collaborate with Sony and Microsoft to create a contract that will guarantee all parties would benefit from cross-platform gaming. The third phase will put the purchasing power in the consumer’s hands, bypassing Amazon and any other online or local retail distribution agreements and costs. Gamers will have explicit access rights to order directly through the CM firm website. This will allow pricing at its minimal, giving gamers extra money to purchase other items such as accessories and games. The fourth phase is to ensure the consumer is satisfied with the gaming system. According to Kahle (2016), “The sales call on the customer, made after the sales is complete, delivered and implemented by the customer, is one of the most powerful sales calls available” (p.16). If the customer is not satisfied then the affirmation of other opportunities can take part, for instance, if the customer is not completely satisfied with the performance then, a no-cost return and your money back policy will be granted. The fourth phase includes a customer care package that includes 24/7 customer support system that will guarantee software stability with zero interruptions.

Potential barriers

The only potential barriers that might take place is if Sony and Microsoft cannot reach an agreement with GenY Xploit to enable gamers to perform cross-platform gaming on their gaming console.

Conclusion

Developing a new product involves product description, market strategy, industrial and reseller’s marketing that will support production and the sale of the product and discuss potential barriers. GenY Xploit is a new gaming console that introduces a whole new gaming experience that will allow gamers to perform cross-platform gaming. The hardware is equal to Xbox One X and PS4 with 4K resolution and push games at sixty frames per second. Collaborating with a CM firm to manufacture the GenY Xploit will allow the business to focus on R&D efforts to enable growth in competition. To reduce risk of damaging goods and increase consumer easement GenY Xploit will pack the gaming console individually at the CM firm and ship directly to the consumers home, this will eliminate wholesalers and retailers all together reducing the shipping and handling cost. Collaborating with Sony and Microsoft in an agreement that grantees all parties will benefit from enabling gamers to cross-platform gaming. GenY Xploit will have a customer care package that includes 24/7 customer support that will guarantee software stability with zero interruptions. The only concerns that might transpire are if Sony and Microsoft will not collaborate with GenY Xploit to allow cross-platform gaming. In any event that this is the situation there will be continue endeavors in arranging an agreement.
