Why Jesus Is God of Incarnation

Introduction

Incarnation is the conception and birth of a being whose original nature is immaterial. Jesus embodied in the flesh of a spirit. In the Bible, God descended from heaven. The principle of Incarnation state that Jesus has two distinct natures which are Devine and Human. In the Trinity, God the son became flesh he was conceived in the womb of a virgin, Mary which was a miracle. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).” The incarnation of Jesus Christ has profound significance and impacts to the World. There are various reasons as to why Jesus is referred to as the God of an embodiment.

Concept of Incarnation

One of the reasons why Jesus is God of the incarnation is the fact that God never changes (Malachi 3:6). “I The Lord do not change. So you, O descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed.” The Lord says to the descendants of Jacob that if they return to Him, he will return to them. He told them in to return; they need to stop robbing Him and put back the tithe to the storehouse so that there would be food. Jesus Christ never changes, He has been in the past, will be in the future and is in the present (Hebrew 13:8).

God is the only savior he is the only one that can rescue man when in trouble (Isaiah 43:11). “I, even I, am the Lord, and apart from me there is no savior,” God revealed, saved and proclaimed, he is not a foreign god among people. When God acts nobody can reverse neither can anyone deliver out of His hands? Jesus is the only savior, he heals diseases and does miracles. “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved Acts 4:12).” People see that Jesus did Miracles; they referred to him as the savior of the World.

In the Beginning

God created the universe and the earth. According to Genesis 1:1, God created the heavens and the earth when it was formless and empty. Darkness was over the surface, and the spirit of God was on it. God simply commanded when creating, “Let there be light.” He called the light, day and the darkness, night. On the other hand, in John 1:3, Jesus created the universe and earth. “Through him, all things were made, without him, nothing was made that has been made.” Visible or invisible, whether thrones or powers or authorities, all things were created by him and for him (Colossians 1:16).

God is the word. In the beginning, the word was God, and it was with Him only (John 1:1). John witnessed that the word was coming to the World inform of a light. Jesus is the word reflected in the book of John 1:14, “The word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.” The people saw Jesus’s glory, who came from the Father full of grace and truth. From the fullness of his grace, the world has received one blessing after another. “He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.” The law which was given to Moses came through Christ.

The Bible highlights that God is the first and the last. “Who has done this and carried it through, calling forth the generations from the beginning? I, the Lord with the first of them and with the last, I am He (Isaiah 41:4).” Jesus, on the other hand, is the first and the last according to the book of revelation, “when I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “do not be afraid for I am the first and the last. Jesus lives forever; he died and risen.

The Redeemer of the World

God forgives sins, therefore, advising humankind to forgive each other when wronged. “Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits who forgives sins and heals all your diseases.” He satisfies peoples’ desire and renews the youth. Jesus forgave the sins of the paralyzed, and they could walk. When Jesus went to Capernaum, the servants told him about their master (centurion) who was sick. The Master was a good man who had faith and builds them a synagogue. Their master saw Jesus and was disturbed by the fact that he was worrying himself. He was humble enough to say that he did not deserve Jesus healing but Jesus forgave his sins, and the man healed.

God is the redeemer of the whole world. “But you our father are, though Abraham does not know us or Israel acknowledge us, you, O Lord, are our father, our Redeemer from of old is your name.” Jesus redeemed us, “while we wait for the blessed hope the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all weaknesses and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.” Jesus compensates for the faults of human beings. When someone is sick, he heals. When someone does any wrong, he forgives.

God is one. In the book of Deuteronomy (6:4), Israel is told that the Lord God is one. Jesus and God are one, “God says that anyone who is to overcome the world is only he who believes that Jesus is His son, he came by water and blood, and it is the spirit that testifies because the spirit is the truth. “For there are there that testify: the spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.” The testimony of God is believed to be greater as it has been given about God’s son. Anyone who believes in Christ believes in God. “My Father and I are one (John 10:30).”

The Mystery of Godliness

God is the Holy One. Israel describes God as their defense as He is Holy (Psalm 89:18). God gave assurance that he is the holy one when he granted David, his oil. His hand alone can sustain a warrior. No man can oppress God’s servant as He will strike down his adversaries. Jesus is the Holy one, “The God of Abraham, Jacob, and Isaac has glorified his servant Jesus. You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go. You disowned him the holy and righteous One and asked that a murderer is released to you.”

God is worshiped, Christians pray to go at homes and in church. The worship might be n songs, prayers or dances. The Devil took Jesus to a high mountain and showed him all Kingdoms of the earth where he told Jesus to bow down and worship him. Jesus refused as God alone is the one to be praised. “Away from me Satan! For it is the written: ‘worship the Lord your God and serve him only’ (Matthew 4:10).” While Jesus was talking about the importance of fasting, a ruler came to him and knelt down and told him that his daughter was sick. Kneeling down is a sign of worship.

Jesus healed the woman who had been subjected to bleeding, he saw her faith and was amazed by how she worshipped him. “take heart daughter your faith has healed you.” Jesus also healed the blind and the mute due to their faith. Two blind men went to Jesus requesting to be healing. They recognized him as the son of David. Before healing them, Jesus asked whether they believed that He was capable of treating them and they agreed to that. The act of worshipping Jesus shows that He is the God of incarnation as he is divine.

God is the Messiah. “I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment. I will take you as my people, and I will be your God (Exodus 6:6).” Jesus is seen to be the Messiah when a Samaritan woman said that the Messiah who was coming was Christ and that he would explain everything to the people. Jesus in the crowd stated that he was the Messiah and that he would make the people understand the things they didn’t understand.

God is everlasting. The Lord is armed with strength and is robed in majesty. “Your throne was established long ago and cannot be moved; you are from all eternity.” Jesus is from everlasting as he is the son of God. “But you, Bethlehem, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from old, from everlasting (Micah 5:2).” Israel was abandoned until a woman was in labor and gave birth and the rest of his brothers returned to join the Israelites. The Israelites stood and shepherded the Lord’s flock guided by God’s majesty.

God alone is glorified. He does not give his glory to idols. “I am the Lord, that is my name! I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols (Isaiah 42:8).” God glorified Jesus; he said that everyone should honor his son just as people honor Him. “He who does not honor the son does not honor the Father who sent him (John 5:23).” Jesus requested God to glorify him in his presence with the glory he had with God before the world began (John 17:5).” Jesus in his prays said to God that he had completed the work God gave him to do.

God refers to himself as ‘I am’: He told Abraham to tell the Israelites that ‘I am’ had sent him when he was asked. Jesus on the other had also referred to himself as ‘I am’: This name is supposed to be remembered from generation to generation. The Israelites were required to believe that it was God and he would rescue them. The Israelites stoned Jesus because of calling himself ‘I am’ and had seen Abraham. They argued that he was not even 50 years old to claim that he saw Abraham. “I tell you the truth before Abraham was born, I am!”

The Nature of God

God heals diseases. When people are sick, they go to doctors to seek medication, but God is the one that treats. “Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all our sins and heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:2-3).” Jesus healed all diseases, he went through Galilee, teaching in their synagogues the good news of the kingdom and healed all diseases among the people. People brought to him everyone who was sick, on hearing the news. The crowd followed as he healed (Matthew 4:23). He laid hands upon the sick and commanded healing upon them. “Compassion on them (Matthew 14:14).”

God is the judge of the whole Earth. He alone is the one to judge the human beings in the end. “far be it from you to do such a thing, to kill the righteous and the wicked alike. Now be it from you! Will not judge of all the earth do right? (Genesis 18: 25). Jesus is the judge of all the land when he says that his father judge no one but has entrusted all judgment to him. Christian should not judge others when they sin as God says all sins are the same whether big or small, he remains the Judge.

God has life in himself. “For as the Father has life in himself, so has he granted the son to have life in himself (John:26).” Jesus also has life in himself. “I tell you the truth, the son of God can do nothing by himself; he can only do what he sees his Father do, because whatever the son does, and so does the Father (John 5:19). Jesus is the way when going to God anyone who denies his love and work, also denies God. “In him was life and that life was the light of men (John 1:4).

Jesus the God-Man

Jesus was born in the form of a human. Jesus was born of a virgin Mary. God sent Angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee to a virgin who was to marry Joseph, a descendant of David. “Greeting you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you (Luke 1: 28).” The angel told Mary not to be afraid as he was highly favored among all women. The son who he was to bore was to be called Most High. Joseph considered divorce when he heard that Mary was pregnant. The angel also came to him and told him not to be afraid as the child would be God’s.

Jesus experienced growth. Jesus grew up as a rational human being and went to the temple to learn about God. He also had moral growth where he would listen to his parents and obey them. “During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud tears to the one who could save him from death and was heard due to his honest submission. Although he was a son, he learned obedience (Hebrew 5:7).” He was morally perfected through his suffering. Every spirit that does not confess Jesus as flesh is not the spirit of God.

John the Baptist baptized Jesus Christ. God gave him a sign to know that it was his Son. “The man on whom you see the spirit come down and remain is he who you will baptize with the holy spirit.” John testified that he saw him and was filled with blessings. He had prophesied that Jesus would come and be baptized by him. “He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me (John 1:15). He said that he was unworthy of untying his sandals.” John the Baptist told the people to make way as the Lord God was coming.

Jesus experienced hunger and fed the hungry. Jesus fed the four thousand people when he saw that they had nothing to eat. The disciples didn’t know how they would feed them as there were only seven loaves of bread and two fish. The crowd sat down and waited for food. Jesus took the food and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to the people. After they were satisfied, the disciples received the baskets of food. Jesus was hungry when he fasted for forty days and nights but had faith that he would not break the prayer. Just like human beings Jesus fasted and was hungry.

Jesus’ body experienced fatigue. Jesus and his disciples went by boat to the other side of the city. A furious storm came up, and the waves broke loose making their vessel was filled with water. The disciples woke him up complaining to him about the rage. “Be quiet! Be still! (Matthew 4:39). The storm calms down as the wind obeys him. This action mentioned that Jesus is the son of God and only he is like the Father. It also shows that Jesus, just like humankind, he can get tired. He slept the whole journey and couldn’t recognize the disturbance of the storm.

Jesus experienced temptation. Jesus was led by the spirit to be tempted by the devil just like a human. He was told by Satan to turn the stones to bread due to his hunger while fasting but Jesus refused. “Man does not live by bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.” Jesus was tempted again when Satan took him to the holy city and was told to throw himself down, but he refused. “Do not put the Lord your God into test (Matthew 4:7). Satan took him to the highest mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the earth. Satan told Jesus to worship him, but he refused.

Jesus showed his physical and mental limitation. The first limitation is that he was born in human likeness. “and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped her in a cloth and placed him in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn (Luke 2:7).” He experienced the normal birth. Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and favor of God and man. He fasted for forty days and nights, accompanied by hunger. He did not know when and where the end of the world would take place, Showing his mental limitations. God alone is the one who knows the date and location.

Jesus experienced tortured and was crucified. He was killed along two criminals in a place called the skull. One criminal on the right and the other on the left. Jesus forgave the people when he prayed to God. The rulers and the soldiers mocked Jesus by telling him to save himself like the way he kept people. “Aren’t you the Christ? Save yourself and Us! (Luke 23:39).” One of the Thieves told Jesus to remember him as he was a sinner. “I tell you the truth. Today you will be with me in paradise (Luke 23:43).” Jesus had done nothing wrong to deserve the torture.

Jesus was executed and died. Just like any human being, Jesus died. When the night came, in the ninth hour Jesus Christ killed while people were watching. The curtains of the temple tore into two. “Father into your hands I commit my spirit (Luke 23:46).” The people who knew him stood at a distance and saw all things take place. The centurion was sure that Jesus was a righteous man and that he was innocent. Joseph, a member of the council, went to Pilate to have Jesus’s body. He took the body and wrapped it in linen and placed it in a tomb cut in a rock.

God raises the dead. He raised Jesus from the dead. “Then you my people, will know that I am the Lord when I open your graves and bring you up from them. I will put my spirit in you, and you will live, and I will settle you in your land (Ezekiel 37:14).” Jesus also raises the dead to life. “For just as the father raises the dead and give them life, even so, the son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it. Jesus raised a widow’s son by touching the coffin the son was laid on. “Young man, I say to you, get up! (Luke 7:14).”

Conclusion

Jesus Christ is God incarnate, his divine forms and human forms highlight the statement. He was born as prophesied in the lineage of David and Bethlehem of Judah. The incarnation states the goodness of physical existence. God affirmed the physical matter and earthly life when he was willing to unite with a physical body through his son. God came to redeem the world and not to destroy it. Sins of the people were forgiven and covered. For forgiveness, blood needs to be shed. Christians should be encouraged in the incarnation of Christ and find life in Christ.
