Who Am I S.W.O.T. Analysis Activity
Now that you have completed your WAI inventories (listening style, personality color, communication style, and conflict style) and Reflections, I would like you to assume the role of a "Communication Expert" and review your results one more time. (This information will help you prepare for the WAI Presentation).
Using your "expert opinion," complete the following S.W.O.T. analysis (identifying the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) for someone with all your styles. In the end, what does it tell us about you as a communicator?
listening style
personality color
communication style
conflict style
Question1
Please take a moment to tell me the final results for your listening style, personality color, communication style, and conflict style. I just need the top result from each inventory (unless they were close, tied, or you had a chameleon style).
Question2
Please identify, in detail, your strengths. Specifically, tell me everything your listening/personality/communication/conflict management styles bring to a communication setting and to interpersonal relationships. Are there perceptions people might have of individuals with your styles that make them more excited to communicate with you?
Question3
Please identify, in detail, your weaknesses. Specifically, what are things you might currently do in your listening/communication/conflict management that could detract from a communication setting or interpersonal relationship. Are there perceptions people have of individuals with your styles that might prevent effective communication from happening?
Question4
Please identify, in detail, your opportunities. Specifically, what are some listening/communication/conflict management skills or strategies, that you don’t currently have, that would help you improve your effectiveness in communication settings and interpersonal relationships? How do you think you could go about developing these skills?
Question5
Please identify, in detail, the threats to your success. Specifically, what are external factors, possibly beyond your control, that could put your listening/communication/conflict management success at risk.
Question6
In the end, what do these results mean, for you, in terms of your self-concept? self-esteem? self-awareness? And future?
