what makes us human
What makes use human?
Who was the first “human” species in the genus Homo?
Use the chart below to compare modern Homo sapiens (us!) to the first species of hominin that you think is enough like us to also be called “human”. You can pick one of the following species to compare: Homo erectus, Homo heidelbergensis, or Homo neanderthalensis. If you think ONLY Homo sapiens qualify as humans, then compare us to Homo neanderthalensis and be clear where you think the differences matter and make us human and them not quite human.
