What is Criminology?

The common definition of Criminology is the study of crime, which includes learning the criminal’s behavior, why they commit them, their impact, and how to prevent them. I have taken Criminal Justice classes before and I know that I have a long way to go in understanding the nature of the crime, criminals, and criminal justice. I define Criminology as a way of understanding crime. Within criminology, laws are enforced to abide by individuals in order to maintain and balance the peace in our society. With the constitution, it will also help to prevent crimes. It also incorporates various aspects of legal theory and substantive legal disciplines whose approaches are based on sociology, psychology, and moral philosophy.
