Executive Summary

Introduction, Background, and Context

This section discusses the history, relevance, and importance of the research problem and aims to convince the reader of the necessity/urgency of policy action. Policy Alternatives

This section discusses the current policy approach and explains proposed options. The aim of this element is to state and give details about the shortcomings of the current approach or options being implemented and/or outline possible alternative approaches to the problem; and therefore, illustrate both the need for change and focus of where change needs to occur.

Policy Recommendations

This section contains the most detailed explanation of the concrete, practice steps to be taken to address the policy issue at a local, state, federal, or global level. Argue why these policies are the most ethical, appropriate recommendations. Acknowledge the limits or biases of the recommendations.
