Communication is Key !
4 styles;
Passive “It really doesn’t matter that much.” or “I just want to keep the peace”
Aggressive “I’m right and you’re wrong.” or “I’ll get my way no matter what.” or “It’s all your fault.”
Passive – Aggressive “That’s fine with me, but don’t be surprised if someone else gets mad.”
Assertive “We are equally entitled to express ourselves respectfully to one another.” or
“I realize I have choices in my life, and I consider my options.”

What you need to be able to do as a Student and PTA…
Why communication?
A PTA should be able to:
Answer questions regarding the rationale for performing an exercise or technique or using a physical agent
Share knowledge regarding a patient diagnosis
Discuss relevant factual information from clinical experience
If you can not answer or SHOULD not as a student or PTA, know when to refer to the PT!
