Cancer is considered by many a primarily genetic disease. However, what role does a lifestyle choice, such as smoking or a high cholesterol diet, play in the development of cancer? (CLO 4)

Cancer is one of the four chronic diseases that is a primarily genetic disease and preventable causing death. The role of lifestyle is significant to prevent a person from having a shorter life cycle; therefore, it is important to maintain good health physically, mentally, and emotionally. Lifestyle is also a reason to help prevent risks of cancer (Pg.1). When lacking a healthy diet, physical activity, along with the using tobacco, and overly consuming alcoholic beverages can shorten a person’s lifespan. Alcohol is considered as bad dietary can lead to hazards such as violence, risks, and other diseases. Compared to women, men consume tobacco and alcohol at a higher rate that makes them more prone to cancer and other diseases (Pg.4). The body has regulators within that monitors everything to make sure homeostasis is maintained. If the body does not have all its nutrients etc. a person could become ill. If a person’s daily activities consist of high calories in their diets, overload of fatty food intake, can cause a raise in unbalance BMI bringing Obesity into effect. Obesity derives from poor lifestyle that can lead to cancer equaling 36million deaths (Pg.9). Although cancer can derive from the unhealthy life over 30% of deaths each year are from a type of cancer (Pg.20).
