AND ASSESSMENT 1
Subject Assessments:

Due Date: 20th September, before 11:59pm.
3: Documentation, Planning and Assessment Records [40%] – 2000 words
Due Date: 25th October before 11:59pm
Assessment 1 Break Down: Research Task [20%] – 1800 words
2 x 600-word essay response (with short introduction, a body and a short conclusion) to two questions:
(1) Discuss the importance of early childhood theory and child development in documentation, planning and assessment of young children.
(2) Examine the importance of play-based pedagogy on young children’s learning and development.
Remember to:
* Use 7th APA Referencing.
* Refer to your Marking Criteria (pg. 21 of Subject Guide).
* Proof-read prior to submission.
Assessment 1 Break Down: Research Task [20%] – 1800 words
Remember to:
1: Read the readings for week one and week two and write two short pieces of academic writing in response to each research question
2: Your assessment should show evidence that you have read widely on the topic beyond the supplied readings and texts.
3: Each research task is 700 words for the body, and approximately 100 words for the introduction and 100 words for the conclusion, meaning the total research question should come to 900 words.
