he nonprofit organization that I have decided to discuss is Children Advocates of Fort Bend County (https://www.cafb.org/about/ (Links to an external site.)). Established in 1991, Children Advocates of Fort Bend is a not for profit agency that serves child victims of physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect (Child Advocates of Fort Bend, 2019). It accomplishes its purpose through Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) affiliated programs. The organization’s mission focuses on providing a voice, healing the hurt, breaking the cycle of abuse and neglect for children in Fort Bend County. Since its establishment, Children Advocates of Fort Bend has served more than 140,000 survivors of physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect. Regarding the operations of the organization, Children Advocates of Fort Bend has a Board of Directors and works with both professionals and volunteers. Its funding source comprises the federal government grants and private partnerships.

Besides, several pieces of evidence from Children Advocates of Fort Bend’s website demonstrate that this organization is a nonprofit. First, on the web page “ABOUT” the organization is introduced as a nonprofit agency, thus confirming that it is a not for profit entity. Also, at the bottom of this page, it is indicated that “Child Advocates of Fort Bend is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization.” This signifies that the enterprise is a nonprofit one. Second, there is a “DONATION” appeal at the bottom of the web page which proves that Children Advocates of Fort Bend is a not-for-profit enterprise. In most cases, nonprofit entities seek donations to help them accomplish their missions (McNamara, n.d.). Third, the indication that the enterprise works with about 200 volunteer corps is also proof that Children Advocates of Fort Bend is a nonprofit entity. Not for profit organizations usually work with volunteers (ProPublica, n.d.). However, integrating more photographs showing the organization in action would be relevant additional evidence to the website. The photos will capture the first glimpse of visitors to the site and quickly realize that this is a nonprofit organization.
