I am considering Bristol Myers Squibb to mention about organizational culture and its strategy, Executive team has positively impacted our organization’s culture, highlighted the stories that created a shared sense of identity, and that demonstrate behaviors aligned that with our organization’s highest and best aspirations. As this is pharmaceutical company, it has good contact with patients and their care. Team has presented inspiring stories of survivors, who administered with drug manufactured at BMS, which created coherence among even globally diverse and dispersed teams. Where team cohesion is strong, individual behaviors naturally tend to align with this shared identity without the need for excessive direction, rules, and oversight.

Time, attention, and resources must be purposefully directed toward shaping ones organization’s culture. Unfortunately, no one individual feels responsible for dysfunctional cultural artifacts, and thus it can be difficult to find someone who is willing to step up and lead painful, yet necessary, changes (Wiefling, 2018). Leadership at ground level is the missing ingredient. The only thing I feel of real importance that leaders do is to create and manage culture.

Q2. Please read the following paragraph and write your opinion.

Take Microsoft and Salesforce into consideration. Both technological firms are internationally-admired performers and brands, and both of them attribute this to the priority of culture. Satya Nadella, who took over as CEO of the firm in 2014, has favorably altered Microsoft, renowned as the cutting edge competitiveness of Steve Balmer. He began on a campaign to improve the culture of the firm, a process that increased competition for continual learning. The personnel were encouraged to develop themselves rather than to prove themselves. The market cap for Microsoft now is $1 billion and is once again vying with Apple and Amazon as one of the world's most important corporations (Hamhill, n.d.).

Airlines Southwest, known for its long-term success in an area in which the biggest competitors frequently fail, is driven by a profound feeling of pride among its employees for 40 years. Southwest has established that an atmosphere is built that first places its people — over clients and owners. This develops a sensation that provides exceptional customer service for emotional commitment and pride. However, work on culture in the Southwest is never finished. Just as the airline has developed to meet a changing external environment, its strategies, tactics and technology have altered through time. Informal practices have also shifted (Thomas, Katzenbach and oelsechelgel, 2016).
