Other reasons why a research proposal might be created other than being part of an application process for grant money or other funding is “to present and justify the need to study a research problem and to present the practical ways in which the proposed study should be conducted” (Organizing your Social Sciences Research Paper) In a research proposal the goal is persuade your organization or outside organizations that your proposal is well thought out and prepared in the best way possible in order to reach the desired outcome of the research.

Hello Class,

There are other reasons for writing a research proposal besides just getting a research grant. One reason is to propose a study that will help to contribute research and knowledge for the common good. Another reason is to provide a guideline of the feasibility for whatever research you are interested in doing. Lastly, a research proposal demonstrates the research skills of the individual, such as data collection and analysis for credible findings and conclusions. Research proposals suggest a study that could be relevant to adding to general knowledge and statistics. Through the proposal, the question and purpose of the study are explained. Ultimately, a reader of the proposal understands and appreciates the implication of the research to a certain area such as medicine, education, or any other field. research proposals also assess the feasibility of the study and how possible it is to successfully conduct the study within the defined conditions. Feasibility helps to add to the credibility of the study thus adding to its advantage to the research field. Lastly, research proposals include sections that demonstrate the skills and efficiency of the researcher. According to Wong and Psych (2016), discussing the data collection methods and purposes enables the reader to evaluate the research skills of the researcher, which contribute to the credibility and validity of findings, and consequent conclusions and recommendations.
