Evolutionary theory is: based on the assumption that societies gradually change from simple beginnings into even more complex forms. When it comes to evoluntionary theory, behaviors that optimize survival and reproduction are favored by natural selction and therefore more likel to persist. I am answering this discussion the best I can as I was stuck on it. Sorry about that.

An altruistic trait is defined as lowering , locally, the fitness of a carrier below that of noncarriers within the same group. An example could be be: giving your lunch away to someone else who is hungry, despite being hungry yourself.

I had some trouble understanding this section. I tried my best again with this question. I apologize in advance. Bystander Intervention could be where someone steps in and says to do something in order to stop the situation. An example of this could be: in a large crowd there is an unruly person and you have to help him to calm down and not hurt anyone. It is up to you to help with this situation. So, you calmly get the person and walk him away from others and gethim the help he needs. An obstacle could be that he fights you and resists the help so not to disturb the others.
