Weekly Writing Diary

Week 5 Prompt:

Choose your favorite contemporary work of art on UW’s campus and visit the object in person. Feel free to choose an UW object not listed on the link, as long as it was created in the contemporary period. Identify it (artist, title, date, medium). Remember titles of artworks are italicized. Write a one-paragraph visual analysis of the object, describing how it work visually. Do not write about the object’s historical context or meaning. Focus exclusively on the formal aspects such as: light, scale, materials, proportion, color, etc.

Respond in a 250-300 word paragraph. Remember the tone of the writing diaries is informal. You will be graded on the quality of your response, rather than composition.
