Taylor Clemmons I am finding it hard to find articles and journals precisely what I am looking for. When I think I have found something, I begin reading certain sections and realize that it may not be as helpful as I thought. At times, I feel as if my topic is so specific that it can be an issue, but I feel strongly that I need to keep looking for literature since it is so specific. Another challenge has been making sure that the literature is current or recent. I have found some great sources and could help, but they are more than five to six years old. It is essential to ensure that the literature is current and relevant in today’s society (Galvan, 2015). When it comes to critically analyzing the article, I agree that it is not fun, but I have found ways to enjoy sifting through the literature. I started by thoroughly reading the title. I look at the title to see if the article is worth looking at. The authors at Penn State college were correct when they said that the title holds much information (Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences, n.d.). If the title seems interesting, I will then take a peek at the abstract to understand the article better to see if it is something that I genuinely want to read and if it will be beneficial to the study.   Ways that I have been addressing the challenges is first by motivation. I constantly try to remind myself why I am on this path and my purpose for choosing this path. After motivation, I try to change keywords when searching for articles. When I noticed that I had been reviewing a different article for over an hour with the exact keywords, I knew it was time to switch it up. After switching the keywords, I take a break of  15-20 minutes before diving to find more articles. I have also learned to be okay asking for help, so I will either reach out to a professor or ask a librarian for help with articles now and then. References Galvan, J. L. Overcoming the Challenges             As Galvan (2015) discusses that some articles present can present conflicting studies. I have found research articles that discuss have found that patients feel the mental health-related to bariatric surgery is often felt to be unnecessary and some studies that demonstrate that patients feel it is extremely important. To overcome this challenge, I am considering the perception of the patient. Some people have more resilience to major lifestyle changes when compared to others. I see this often in my patient population where some patients can accomplish lifestyle change with little to no direction while others have extreme difficulties with lifestyle changes. This is something I will also need to consider as I complete my own research. The importance of more individualized mental health in the bariatric population seems to be a fairly new idea and concept which can lead to limitations in finding research. However mental health’s contributions to behavior and lifestyle change is the overall idea. Mentioned in many research articles is the understanding that bariatric surgery requires a significant lifestyle change. Behavioral Health’s contributions to creating health-related lifestyle changes have many concepts and theories related to long-term lifestyle changes.             The most significant strategy I will utilize is to read as many different research-related articles and reviews of mental health and bariatric surgery so that I can create comparisons. Reading and identifying the different concepts I find will help me to better understand what scholarly research still needs to understand about mental health preparation related to bariatric surgery. I will utilize things like concept maps to help me with concepts and conflicting ideas. Walden writing center provides an example for utilizing concept maps.   References             Galvan, J. L.
