Running head: WATER RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT ACT EVALUATION

Policy Evaluation: Water Resources Development Act

Policy related to the Water Resources and Development Act contains a process of the policy making related to the preparation, collection, distribution, disposal of water and protecting the quality of water from environmental pollution. The provisions of the act include different provisions for identification, collection and preparation of the water for human use and how to dispose of water safely so that used or contaminated water cannot harm the environment (Rossi, Lipsey, & Freeman, 2004). There are also provisions in the Water Resources and Development Act for protecting the quality of water. The utilizations of water in this policy include the domestic consumption by humans, usage of water for agriculture, industry and for the protection of ecosystem. The disposal of water involves the treatment of wastewater, rain or flood water (Gerston, 2010).

Water Resources and Development Act has been introduced with changes in 2005 and has great impact on the usage of water throughout the United States. The economic implication on the resources of water and management policy is very important when making decision regarding the policy and while making an evaluation of the policy. The health risk assessment is also important for the evaluation (Gerston, 2010). The Water Resources and Development Act has sound system and provision for the health safety of the people because the treatment of waste water and flood water was made which is great to protect the environment from hazardous impact of waste water. In recent years, challenges with dengue virus were severed in some countries because the waste water is the main cause for the virus. In the United States, the virus was controlled because of the good water waste management with the implication of the provisions of the Water Resources and Development Act. In a gigantic piece of these territories, the ailments related with poor water and sanitation have a fantastically colossal general success impact. Cost and benefit analysis (CBA) are budgetary evaluations that are most pleasing for asset task examination between government-financed rehearses and inside the worthwhile areas. The motivation behind this segment is to plot basic expenses and positive conditions related with hypotheses bounded to improve Water Supply and Sanitation Services (WSS). While contemplating the gathering of intercessions, the goal is to assess the general welfare impact, paying little regard to whether it is past the space of inventive capacity in planning to unravel the money related to the cause (Rossi, Lipsey, & Freeman, 2004).

Most of the discussion regarding the water resources is related to the quality of water because it is very important due to the implication of health and welfare of the citizens. The yearly expenses of improving access to safe water supply and elegant sanitation associations change depending on the augmentation in the extra number of individuals being served (Gerston, 2010). A key test in coordinating diffused activities is watching over huge spatial scales and possibly incalculable. One technique that may be useful is the possibility of responsive rule. Consistence with rules is good while in transit, waiting for something to happen when a controller uses a system as a managerial pyramid. At the base of the pyramid, are conversations-based approaches for confirming consistence such as the impact and guidance (Rossi, Lipsey, & Freeman, 2004).

In conclusion, the Water Resources and Development Act of 2005 has great impact on the public health and has served a lot with the collection, preparation, distribution and disposal of water throughout the country. The only challenge with the implication of the policy is that the cost of the policy sometimes exceeds the benefits of the policy.
