RECORDING and SAVING NARRATION ON POWERPOINT

1. After creating the presentation slides, you will want to select “Save as”.

2. Use the following naming convention on your file, only replacing “Sample” with your own first and last name

3. When you are ready to record voice narration to your introduction, use the Slide Show tab to begin the recording process

4. Select the Record Slide Show button in the ribbon and choose to either record From Beginning, or choose to record the current slide. If you choose to record from beginning, you will simply use the forward arrow on your keyboard to advance the slide and continue recording until you reach your final slide. Once recording is finished, press your ESC key to stop the recorder.

5. After reviewing your presentation, you will now choose “Save As” and select PowerPoint Show, then click Save

6. Your presentation is now in a file format which can be uploaded for course submission (See submission tips below)

To submit an assignment:

For best results, avoid using special characters (like "*," "-," "%," and such) in the folder and file names you upload to Dropbox. The following table provides examples of file naming conventions to use and avoid.

1. On the Tools menu, click Dropbox.

2. Click Submit Assignment.

3. In the Basket drop-down list, select a basket. Only assignments for which your instructor has created a dropbox basket display in this drop-down list. If an assignment is not listed, you cannot submit that assignment through the Dropbox.

4. In the space provided, type any comments or explanations for the assignment.

5. (Optional) Click Add/Remove to add an attachment to the assignment. Follow the steps on the page to add a single attachment or multiple attachments.

6. Click Submit Assignment. The assignment is sent to your instructor's inbox and to your outbox.

You cannot make changes to a submitted item, but you can submit additional information or attachments

Uploading the PowerPoint Show to the Threaded Discussion 1. When you are ready to share your introduction presentation, select the RESPOND in the Introduction thread.

2. Enter the Subject and a brief statement with your presentation. To add the PowerPoint Show, you will select

Add/Remove File

3. You will see a popup allowing you to browse your computer to upload the presentation.

4. Select the PowerPoint Show; note the icon is different from the Presentation file.

5. You will see the presentation loading

6. Once the file has loaded, you will see the attachment below the text box.

7. Select Post Response

8. Now you can view your own presentation and read your peer responses.
