elcome to week 7. Only one week left!

Last week you completed a risk assessment. Keep in mind that if you have not finalized or started to finalize your previous assignments you should start doing that immediately. If you wait until next week, our final week, to start finalizing your various documents you may find that will not have enough time to incorporate my feedback. You do not want to lose points for the same thing twice as you will be assessed on the completeness of the plan and the various components contained within.  I will have all grading up to date by Thursday.

In M7A1 you will be developing an action plan. The assignment instructions provide a template, but I would highly suggest that you use the guidance in the course before you get started. Without the assignments from weeks 4-6 you will not be able to complete this plan as it requires elements from all 3. If you have not submitted these assignments please do so immediately as this information is imperative when writing an action plan. I am really looking for specifics here not just general answers or loose connections.

Please let me know if you have any questions about your grade and/or my feedback as now is the best opportunity before we enter week 8. This checking in activity I will be carefully monitoring the forum and providing answers to your questions. Students who do not use this opportunity often struggle in the final week of the course as once the course is over I am unable to grade any additional work. I want everyone to do well in this course, so please use this time wisely. 

Action Plan Tips - Must Read!

I wanted to share a few tips that will help you to be successful on the action plan. These tips are based on issues that I commonly see:

1. Make sure the action plan is a table. You are not given a page count for a reason.

2. The action plan should start the beginning of the project all the way to the end. This means your first action, for every project, should be drafting the plan and getting it approved. You also want some kind of closing activity.

3. Think small when thinking actions. For example, "conduct training" is too broad to be an action. This is an entire category which can include things like "recruit the trainer", "approve the training schedule", etc. It is not uncommon for an action plan to be 20-30 actions.
