Week 7: Audience Awareness and Peer Response

Final Hybrid Argument Draft #1

Assignment Sheet and Rubric

In order to receive full credit for this draft assignment, you need to have 1,000 words (full paragraph prose), include a 250-500 word author's note, include the idea detailed for the original graphic you will use including a chart, graph, image, etc (or include it, if you have it done) as well as have a full Works Cited page completed. Your annotated bibliographies were due in week 6 so the Works Cited page should be an easy copy + paste.

What is an Author’s Note? Author’s notes are considered a kind of metawriting where you, the author, speak directly to your audience. Author’s notes address concerns, challenges, or questions you might be experiencing during the writing process. The Author’s note is not indented to read as a part of your paper but rather as extra-textual commentary. Your Author’s note should be unambiguously separate from your essay draft and be simply added before or after the body of your hybrid argument. See example formatting below and be sure to address the below questions in your author’s note: Author’s Note:

• What are you most proud of in this paper?

• Finish the statement: “Given more time, I would do …”

• What areas of this paper need more development, or can you point to a specific moment you want help revising?

• After looking at the Peer Review resources, what kind of feedback are you looking for during peer review (i.e. higher order concerns, lower order concerns, citation style, development, etc)?
