Hello Dr. Smith and Class,
An immeasurable goal is when you can't seem to measure the process of your goal. It also doesn't include SMART goal technique an example of this would be trying to save money. The goal save money doesn't include a timeline but just need to start. A better example of a measurable goal would be to save 500.00 in three month and stop buying thing that are not needed.
My three immeasurable goals are :
loose weight
cook and eat healthier
save money
By explaining the SMART goal technique to a client and why it is to so important to use it when making and maintaining the progress of the goals that are made a client will shift there goals from immeasurable to measurable. "SMART goal setting: Measurable goals means that you identify exactly what it is you will see, hear and feel when you reach your goal."(What is SMART goal setting) Having measurable goals are very important because when goals are not achievable a client may get discourage when they are not meet as fast as they think they should be. Having obtainable goals will allow a client to reach there goals and remain positive.
Best Regards,
Clineesha
