Week 7 Focus:  Freestanding Ambulatory Care Settings

· Consider the importance of relationships for freestanding ambulatory centers, identify at least two stakeholders that you, as the practice manager, would need to ensure are managed appropriately, and why?

· Would you rather be a practice manager of a freestanding ambulatory center or a department manager of a ambulatory center within a hospital, and why?

Part 1 - ACA and Health Insurance: Based on your readings this week, the information you have read throughout the course, and your own research:

· Describe the impact that the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has had on health insurance. Include at least one example of how the ACA influenced or changed health insurance. 

Part 2 - Reimbursement Methods: Based on your readings this week, the information you have read throughout the course, and your own research:

· Identify at least two different general types of reimbursement methods;

· Provide a strength and weakness for each type;

· Explain which reimbursement method you believe is best for the U.S. healthcare system.
