The goal I choose for professional and personal development is to pursue fostering of fairness in society regardless of differences in ethnicity, race or religion. This goal is essential towards how people treat each other on a daily interaction. If every part of society practice fairness there would be fewer issues like hate speech, racial-induced violence and discrimination and individualism. Currently, lack of fairness in opportunity makes it hard for others to compete in society (Zhang et al., 2014). Secondly; pursuing fairness aligns with my personal values based on the survey results. The results indicate that I would like to embody are courage, justice and transcendence. The harmonious collaboration of these values can establish a strong framework for a just world. Thirdly, I believe unfairness is the root cause of most world problems. For instance, the gap between the rich and poor is a common issue in most countries and is continuing to widen. This occurs due to unfairness in distribution of justice. The bid to pursue fairness will be a progressive journey because it entails increasing awareness as well as mobilizing support from community members. However, I specifically intend to achieve some milestones within a 12-month period.

One of the set objectives is to engage in more work with other students on projects that promote teamwork and fairness. This will ensure that I am able to collaborate with everyone in the team by giving them an opportunity to share their ideas, give contributions and even air their complaints. This ensures no one is overlooked and is given an equal voice thus promoting project success. The second objective is establishing a positive liaison with the school’s administration in ensuring they administer resources to all students and teachers and school programs fairly. This involves setting equal criteria for when teachers and students want to pursue activities and projects such as field trips and excursions. This will promote fairness because the administration will gauge everyone on merit only.

The first milestone to measure progress is in the number of successfully completed projects by students at the end of each semester. Thus, one school semester is adequate to evaluate this progress. The second milestone is the reviews generated by students regarding the efforts of the administration to work with them. This will also be measured at the end of each semester where their reviews will be posted and thus assessed in a common online thread where both teachers and students shall share views and news. Lived experiences of fairness can play a core role in promoting the discourse of fairness in education (Smith et al., 2016).
