Introduction • “Mandate” = an authoritative order or

command. • “Dominion” = control, rulership, authority, to

subdue.

• “Dominion Mandate” = The Great Commission.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you.

Matthew 28:19-20

The Gospel of the Kingdom:

• Healing the sick • Casting out demons • Saving souls • Multiplying churches • Caring for the poor • Transforming society

Our Dominion Mandate in 4 points.

1. Dominion Theology begins on the first page of the Bible.

Why did God create the earth?

Human beings were in His image.

1. They could communicate with God. 2. They could have a personal relationship,

and love him. 3. They were free moral agents.

God’s plan for humans.

Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

Genesis 1:28

God established a government.

Adam was to govern = have dominion. “Adam” = “humankind”

This is our DOMINION MANDATE!

But Adam had a choice. He had authority to take dominion. He also had authority to give dominion

away.

2. The enemy has attacked the dominion mandate since day one.

Satan’s purpose: to usurp the dominion over the world that God had given to Adam.

What was Satan’s situation? – God created him an angel of light (“Lucifer”) – He went into rebellion. – God cast him out (plus other angels.)

Satan had power and authority. When he was cast out he still had power but no authority.

Satan wanted to regain his authority and he wanted to maintain it.

He approached Adam & Eve. Adam could obey God or Satan. He gave his dominion to Satan!

Result: Satan is • The god of this age (2 Corinthians 4:4) • The prince of the power of the air.

(Ephesians 2:2) • The ruler of this world. (John 14:30)

3. The Second Adam permanently reversed history.

World history has changed 180 degrees twice. 1. When Adam disobeyed God and gave up

dominion. 2. When Jesus, the Second Adam, came to

turn history back around and retake dominion.

Why did Jesus come? For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that He might

destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8

For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost. Luke 19:10

The main purpose of Jesus dying on the cross was not so that you can go to heaven. The main purpose of His death was so that His kingdom can be established in you so that, as a result, you can exercise kingdom authority on the earth (Luke 17:21) and reconcile the world back to Him (2 Corinthians 5:19).

“Reconciliation” For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.

How?

Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,

God gives us the task of making it happen!

“Lifeboat Theology vs Ark Theology”

Unfortunately, many of us hold on to this mentality that since sin has already damaged the world, what’s important now is to rescue as many people as we can from the “wreckage.” One preacher called this the “lifeboat theology,” looking at the world as if it is the ship Titanic! The correct Christian worldview is never the lifeboat theology, but the “ark theology.” Noah’s ark is only saved people, it preserved all of God’s creation. It brought everything back out to restore the earth. Every church must be like Noah’s ark, drawing people in for discipleship and then sending them out to restore the world.

4. Jesus delegated establishing His kingdom to us.

Jesus trained His disciples to take charge when He left.

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth.

Acts 1:8

Jesus’ agenda The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Luke 4:18-19

Jesus has been using His witnesses to: • Build His church • Advance His kingdom • Reconcile creation to Himself

The devil? For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath because he knows that he has a short time.

Revelation 12:12

Satan has been losing ground for 2000 years.

Satan will lose more ground in the next 100 years than in the past 2000 years!

The year 2001: The New Apostolic Age.

Alignment with apostles and prophets.

The war has two major fronts.

1. The spiritual front. “The wiles of the devil” (Ephesians 6:11)

Whatever it takes to maintain the dominion that he usurped from Adam.

This means spiritual warfare! For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rules of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
