week 6 response 5 & 6 386
Class,
I believe some appropriate steps to take as general practitioner to adapt to cultural relativity in American society is to first have respect all around. another step is to understand the culture but doing the necessary research to learn more about the people, religions, traditions. Another step would be to put yourself in the field to observe, this helps one to become more hands on. This is important becomes it helps build and maintain a good rapport on both parties, as well as building the bridge of respect for both parties. "The goal of this is promote understanding of cultural practices that are not typically part of one's own culture" (2006).
