MNC(Japan-TOYOTA) and Host Country (USA) Entry Mode

· The discussion topic this week revolves around the 6 entry modes found in the material (chapter 15). Think about how your MNC entered a new market, which entry mode do you think best fits into how your MNC entered that market?

· In class, we will look at how, for example, Starbucks entered the Italian market. This is quite significant, as the Italians are known for espressos, cappuccinos, and the like, and it was not an easy market for Starbucks to enter.

· Please provide your findings based on what you think was the entry mode that your MNC used in the host country.

· Take a look at the 6 entry modes again, which do you think is the riskiest type of entry mode to enter a new market? What do you base that risk on? If you were head of market expansion of your MNC, is there a new market that your MNC has not entered and you think they should? Which market/country? Which entry mode would you recommend?
