Informal Reading Inventories – Reading passages corresponding in difficulty to materials at grade levels from primer through high school.

There are many different creators of IRI and they can be found in many places, even online.

-Literary quality of reading passages.

- Clarity and relevance of questions.

- Balance of explicit and implicit question types, requiring a variety of comprehension skills.
