1. What is the occupation you chose? Mission Support (Technical Support)

What were the other occupations you considered? Customs Agent and Border Patrol Agent

2. Why did you choose your preferred occupation? Because I was not accepted to become a Customs Agent due to my lower back injury from when I was a Marine. Because I get injections I was denied. So my VA counselor from when I was doing my application process told me I would be making more money if I went to school and got a degree in Mission Support Technical Support and then go work for Customs as an IT specialist. Working Monday through Friday and being inside an office is a plus. With the hot weather that we have in San Diego this job is better for my health.

My current path will take me to were I want to go because I already have past experience from when I was in the service I was doing missions and in charge of the IT department. Now with school and once I get my degree it will open doors to many jobs.

This source is valid because the United States Customs and Border Protection is a credible organization committed to serving citizens of the United States. The website was last modified on August 14, 2018, which implies that the provided information is current. The information is also accurate because the purpose is to attract prospective applicants, which required accurate communication. However, the website only contains information about the duties and responsibilities of mission support specialists at the Customs and Border Protection.
