Assignment Guidelines Working in teams of 3 – 5 members, analyze the HR Strategic Management Case (Parts A and B) posted in Week 5 Assignments, and prepare a 7 – 10 page team paper that adheres to APA standards and addresses the following:

1. Based on the team’s analysis of Part A, create a SWOT analysis summarizing the internal strengths and weaknesses, and external opportunities and threats that faced IBM in 2003. Why was or wasn’t a change in the talent management system needed? What might some other options IBM could have considered?

2. Based on the team’s analysis of Part B, how did IBM change its talent management system? What were the benefits and challenges of the new talent management system?

3. What is the current status of IBM’s talent management system? Research IBM’s website and other sources to assess the effectiveness of the original plan? How has the talent management system evolved?

4. Based on the team’s overall case analysis, identify three (3) or more recommendations to improve IBM’s talent management system. Be sure to clearly link your recommendations to your SWOT analysis.
