Implementation Project Plan

Overview

The primary goal of this paper is to provide an overview of the project plan for the implementation of this project. The project under consideration is the implementation of a database management system and network configuration for SBA Bank. The table below presents Work Break Down Structure (WBS) for this implementation. Project plan implementation comprises several project activities which must be undertaken to ensure that the whole system is working effectively. Such activities include preparation for implementation, preparing for testing environment, preparation for production environment, data conversions, systems documentation, training, and taking the system live. According to Waida (2021), project implementation plans comprise strategies, processes, and actions that outline steps that teams will undertake to achieve a shared objective. Additionally, an implementation plan covers all project aspects such as budget, timeline, personnel, and other project resources.

Conducting Post-Mortem

The post-mortem provides a good opportunity to conduct a thorough analysis of the entire project. This also helps in improving those tasks that did not go on well. Some of the things that went on well in this project since its inception are performing comprehensive research on a few things that could be incorporated in this project to ensure it has succeeded. Some of the researched topics revolved around database implementation and network technologies. Others include software applications and cloud services. Since this project revolves around the implementation of an internet banking system, the selection of project management methodology was Agile due to its ability to make changes throughout the project lifecycle and deliver the end product that would satisfy customers' needs. The scope of this project provided an explanation on what internet banking application and database system is trying to accomplish. The goal was to provide a platform that would enable customers to utilize banking services without necessarily having to present themselves to a physical bank.

The things that can be improved on this project in the future include putting in proposal accounts, debits, credit cards since this would be critical in delivering some services to customers. Another thing that would be important is training users on the operation of the enhanced system, especially to enlighten them when dealing with sensitive data. Another area that needs to be looked at is based on risk analysis to capture its likelihood, impact, and mitigation strategies to ensure everything is running smoothly. One of the key things that should be put in place in the future project is having comprehensive documentation for the user to capture all the implemented changes and systems functionalities for future reference. In summary, implementation of the project plan is necessary to help in guiding the organization in its project and to ensure the successful completion of this project. Additionally, post-mortem analysis is paramount in determining where the success occurred and where it needs to be improved.
