There are two types of indirect control that is secondary control and proxy control. Proxy control is when a person gets assistance in managing an environment, while secondary control is when a person get adapted to a certain environment. In East Asia a child remains to be close to the parents since parent- child relationship provide the basis for development of the self. The relationship between teachers and their student is seen to be like an extension of parent child relationship. Collective controls help teachers, student and parents to unanimously agree that academic goal and their work towards this goal (Jerrim, 2015).

The absences of collective control and proxy control may decline the relationship between teachers, parents and the students. The typical climate at school may not motivate students to work harder to excel in their life. When teachers and students are not close, this may lead to school violence and a lot of school dropout too. When a child lacks self-regulation he lacks to develop moral character through perseverance. The school, society and the family don’t agree to support the student they lack motivation to achieve higher in their education.

In US they give reward based on individual performance, United States students who work in groups they loaf their work. The U.S government spend a lot of money to fund for student than East Asia, yet student perform far below the counterparts. When students are so close to their parents they and provided for a positive family environment, children feels they have a lot to offer to their parents. This may be one way America may try to enhance their student performance through creating a rapport among teachers, parents and students (Marshe et al, 2015).
