Global warming is the prolonged rise in the average temperature of the climatic conditions of the Earth. It is associated with the melting of the icebergs which is brought by rising in global temperatures (Bozinovic & Pörtner, 2015). Severe droughts and floods occur in different parts of the Earth. This rise in world temperatures has for a long time impacted human activities and their cultures as discussed.

Accordingly, global warming is associated with weakening of the soil structure in cases where permafrost {M: comma} which aids in soil stability, melts away making the surrounding soil to be unstable {M: comma} thus leading to damages to buildings, {U: and} roads, and putting the lives of the people in the area at risk (Classen et al., 2015). It has also caused a great interruption in the regular global water supply through rapid desertification that leads to drying up of water catchment areas making the communities living in rural and remote areas have insufficient access to adequate and clean water (Bozinovic & Pörtner, 2015). Equally, it may result in the emergence of waterborne diseases.

It is also caused by a rapid increase in infectious diseases such as malaria and cholera, which arise when there are extended rainy seasons due to changing weather patterns, thus creating favorable grounds for vector breeding (Van der Linden, Leiserowitz, Rosenthal & Maibach, 2017). These diseases have made populations to struggle with treatment and management costs. Moreover, populations are also subjected to mental health problems as a result of global warming effects. People who are involved in flooding cases or fires cased {U: wrong word} be {U: wrong word} extreme heat may be traumatized leading to poor mental well-being. The affected families plunge into the struggle of attending to their loved ones who were once well.

Overall, the effects of climate change have caused major changes in the lives of the affected individuals, ranging from displacements, increased mortality rates, decreased food supply {M: comma} as well as increasing the cost of living which results when communities try to find solutions to these effects. Thus, it is critical for government and respective bodies responsible for environmental conservation to try and eliminate some of the causes of global climate change in the future.
