Determining the time when internal consistency or validity is more or less important

It is about determining whether or not your data gathering technique is indeed measuring what you expect it to measure (Mohajan, 2017). Suppose you were trying to figure out how fast someone could go through a website on their phone as opposed to their PC. Asked in a survey, "Which approach enabled you to browser faster?" virtually all participants said that using their phone was faster. Although you used a timer to record the time spent on the phone, the findings reveal that they all spent a lot more time on the phone than you expected. What you were looking for wasn't being measured by the questionnaire - it was measuring how you felt about time. When other items are used instead of the standard ones, the internal consistency coefficient informs researchers how much the overall test results will change (Mohajan, 2017). Because this question informs researchers whether they've explored the complete spectrum of a concept, it's theoretically crucial.
