A policy is a law or regulation set forth by the government to express people's rights. Although social policies typically trickle down to the local level, agencies have their policies set forth. Social policies can be specific and broken down in groups reflecting the area in which it represents ("A guide to international refugee protection and building state asylum systems: Handbook for Parliamentarians No. 27, 2017 - World", 2021
Here are some of the highlighted categories are as follow:
"Policies of social and financial support, policies of protection, policies of rehabilitation and remediation, policies of prevention, and policies of punishment and correction" (2017).
Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island aims to empower refugees and immigrants in the community by giving essential programs and services for legal aid and representation for citizenship and immigration, settlement of refugees, and education. They provide client-centered services, advocacy, and opportunities based on their expertise in family literacy and adult education, employment services, refugee resettlement, translating and interpreting, and U.S. citizenship and immigration services (Who we are – Dorcas International Institute of R.I.," 2021). They are committed to building on the diversity and strength of the people they serve as an investment in a stronger and more connected community.
