Strategic Plan Goals and Budget

Your Board of Education, after a full year of work with the Strategic Planning team (the Superintendent, principals, family members, middle and high school students, community members, and the CFO), has once again released the school district’s new Strategic Plan. The Strategic Plan covers the years 2017–2021. The Board of Education has created 6 goals for the district as well as specifying objectives, strategies, and activities designed to support attainment of these goals.

Locate the Strategic Plan for Port Townsend School District by clicking About Us > Our District > Strategic Plan. Review the goals for the district on pp. 8–27.

Visit the Port Townsend School District Budget & Financial Reports page, select the 2018–19 Budget, and review GF1–8.

Find at least three direct linkages between the district’s strategic plan goals and the budget. Identify the goal, the budget page number, and the line item(s) you selected for each of the three goals. Describe how the budget line items align with each goal.
