Hello Class,

My snack food company is Zoey's Organic Treats.  We provide healthy organic snacks of different varieties.

Facilities:

For the starting operations, the company will rent an amity warehouse or manufacturing facility and convert it into the main manufacturing site. The facility should be big enough to meet all operational needs such as storage of raw materials and finished products. For office spaces, the company shall focus on getting an office space in town or a populated area where we can be reached by other services. The rental costs for the office space should be about $36,000 whole the manufacturing and storage facility should be about $12,000 annually. The company shall be responsible for all the cost such as water, electricity, gas etc. the estimated costs for these utilities shall be about $82,000 annually.

Production Process:

All the raw materials need for production shall be outsourced from contracted farmers producing only organic products. The farmers shall deliver all the products to manufacturing facilities. The manufacturing shall be based on push strategy but will change in the future to pull strategy i.e. based on market demand. The machine needed for production and packaging should cost about $42,000. The package development shall be outsourced to third party companies.  All products must be inspected by a team of quality and controls before packaging. After production is complete, the products shall be stored then supplied to stores and online platform warehouses to reduce the pressure on the need for company warehouse. Once we receive an order from these sources or online platform, the products should be delivered within three hours.

Research and Development:

The research and development process shall involve the company trusting social media, focus groups and endorsement partners to provide details. The snacks social media community, groups and platform shall be use to collect consumer options about the products them make changes. Other partners such as endorsers shall also provide the needed details. Social media users shall also provide anticipated details about their needs to help in creating future products.

Personnel Needs in Operations:

The personnel employed shall be of two categories, office and factory. Factory personnel will include those involves in manufacturing, warehousing, logistics and delivering the products. they will be in charge of all manufacturing, storage, outsourcing and delivery activities. The office staff shall include managers, marketers, HR, operation managers. Their role will be to market the company and ensure the operations are smooth. They will be the strategic contributors while the factory team will be involved in execution.
