Painting Interior Walls

Choosing the right products for your DIY project

By Lorraine Bliss

Pro Paint Specialist

Speaker’s notes for oral delivery:

Background

More than seven years in the paint department at The Home Depot

Title position: Pro Paint Specialist

The cover slide includes the title of the talk, a relevant picture is used to express the general topic, the author’s name is in a 32-point type, and the author’s credentials are listed.

I like how the author used different fonts and colors in each section of the slide.

DIY Painting Projects

Can be expensive and overwhelming

Can be easier with the right products

Speaker’s notes for oral delivery: DIY painting projects can be rewarding and empowering for any home owner, but they can also be expensive. Painting projects don’t have to be expensive. Armed with the right products, you can complete the job on your own time and make it a budget friendly experience.

The font size for the title of the slide 36 and body font size is 32.

The slide design follows the “Rule of Thirds” by being closer to the title than the bottom of the slide, but it looks bare visually.

3

Purpose of this presentation

To teach you how to pick the right products to paint the interior walls of your home

The author used a purpose slide to state the purpose as a presenter. The purpose is listed in one statement and not as a list.

I like the use of the picture to visually show readers the different products needed to paint the interior walls of home.

4

The three steps to painting interior walls

The parts of the author’s presentation are not listed in a parallel grammatical structure. The author chose to use a picture diagram to illustrate the parts. The body font is 28.

The picture in this slide allows for reader error. As a reader, I could start at any point and then go clockwise.

The three steps to painting interior walls

The first “moving” blue print announces the first section with a checkmark. The body font is 28.

I like the use of this visual, but I am still unsure if it would be a good design based on the previous slide.
