Hello Dr Hawkins and class

Identification of the database source of the Randomized control trials

The leading cause of the international or the United States burden of disease that is common in the patient population or common within the community is congestive heart failure. The condition is a chronic as well as a progressive illness that affects the heart muscles thus interfering with the pumping activity of the heart. It is approximated that over 5.8 million individuals in the United States suffering from congestive heart failure are experiencing reduced ability to perform their normal functions and having poor quality of health.

Based on the search for the randomized controlled trials, one of the selected sources from the PubMed database is by Srisuk et al (2017) that was aimed at assessing the heart failure education program created for the clients and the caregivers in Thailand. According to this study, heart problem is a major health issue and the outcome of this study reveal that patients and caregivers who were provided with the education program reported high score in terms of knowledge at three to six months as compared to the individuals who received usual care (Srisuk et al., 2017). Patients who received education programs reported an improvement in the maintenance of self-care and confidence, and health-associated scores in the quality of life for three to six months with an improvement in the management of the self-care scores at six months.

The article by Arruda et al (2017) from the SCIELO database is aimed at assessing the impact caused by the orientation group on adherence to the treatment process and self-care amongst patients suffering from heart failure. The author adopted a randomized controlled trial using 27 patients diagnosed with chronic heart failure as the study participants. The study reveals the role of orientation in the education approach in healthcare, especially for chronic patients. There was a reduction in the level of confidence of the patients in self-care among the intervention group. It shows that well-structured strategies are unlikely to lead to the expected objective but offer evidence for the development of more suitable interventions.

Another study by Bekelman et al (2018) focused on determining if the symptoms and the psychosocial collaborative care intervention is assisting in improving the heart failure conditions, depression, and the burden of symptoms on the patient diagnosed with heart failure. The article is generated from the PubMed database and the results from the study show that there was evidence of heart failure. The outcome also reveals the improvement in depression and fatigue through the utilization of the Collaborative Care to Alleviate and Adjust to the disease (CASA) intervention. There was an improvement in the heart failure-specific health status with CASA intervention.

How the articles are related

Bekelman et al (2018) attempt to reveal the role played by the collaborative care intervention as a way of enhancing the health status of clients with congestive heart failure. The improvement in health status is in terms of the reduction in depression and fatigue. On the other hand, Arruda et al (2017) show the impact of the orientation group on the adherence to the therapeutic regimen and self-care for clients suffering from the chronic heart failure. It shows that the orientation group is not helping in the improvement of adherence to treatment and self-care as well as the maintenance. Srisuk et al (2017) on the other hand focused on determining the role of the heart failure education program for clients with heart failure. The family-based heart failure program is helping in improving the knowledge, behaviors associated with self-care, and health-associated quality of life, and carer knowledge.

How to help in the dissemination of information as a DNP practice to impact the point of care as a

The dissemination of this important information can be done through publication in national journals or recognized journals. The dissemination is also done during the professional conference, during the professional meetings, using the special interest newsletter, and posting on the websites or the informal professional networks.
