Hello Dr. Beard and class

Examine why is it important to identify stakeholders and the project team early on when undertaking a project.

Stakeholders should be identified as early in the project as possible in order to enable them to participate fully. Increased input from a diverse range of stakeholders is possible with effective stakeholder involvement. Involving stakeholders in the planning and implementation phase will also help the project team achieve support and buy-in from stakeholders (Hawrysz & Maj, 2017). This will also help the project team bring stakeholders together at a table where problems can be aired, managed, and resolved jointly. In addition to enhancing the project's chances of success, this strategy will help build project team trust and reinforce the team's position.

Consider the organizational culture where you plan to implement your DNP project. Describe organizational cultural barriers that may be present that will need to be overcome for project success.

In today's healthcare business, one of the most common concerns faced by Emergency Departments is the rise in unnecessary ED visits. Poor treatment, disappointing patient outcomes, and an ineffective discharge procedure are all common causes of these repeat visits. They may cause problems in the ED, such as excessive expenses or overcrowding. Patients' outcomes and happiness may be improved utilizing a new tool, which is why a DNP Project was proposed to address these concerns. The goal of this project is to improve discharge processes in order to reduce the number of patients who return to the ED.

COVID-19's significant effects on the facility were not taken into account while setting the project's goals and expectations, as well as its estimated timeframe, budget, and ED personnel responsibilities. Implementation was anticipated to proceed smoothly through November with all ED employees expected to perform their responsibilities at every level of the project's growth. There were some setbacks in this project's development, however, since ED professionals who were intended to be crucial in its implementation were busy with giving emergency treatment to COVID-19 patients. In the same way that the pandemic has slowed down many other hospitals' plans to start new initiatives this year, the DNP Project has also run into severe problems due to the lack of enough funding, human resources, and a favorable work atmosphere.

For your DNP project, detail your implementation plan to include milestones.

Even though there is no single, universally accepted strategy for implementing evidence-based nursing into policies and procedures, as well as the everyday clinical experience of nurses, successful strategies have been implemented in healthcare organizations through the use of mentors with experience in implementing evidence-based interventions, the Champions of Change model, in-services, email, and other means of educating staff (Mathieson, Grande & Luker, 2019). My plan is to deliver printed materials with vital information and instructions for the project's implementation phase in order to guarantee that the ED staff members have appropriate knowledge and reference points. According to CDC recommendations, these printed materials will include information on COVID-19 response methods. As a result, the ED staff will be able to lead patients through the full discharge process and ensure that they are pleased with the discharge process and the follow-up processes that follow release (Mathieson, Grande & Luker, 2019). Even while the patient population in the ED is lower than planned, this will lead to better patient outcomes and quality of treatment, which will considerably reduce the likelihood of unnecessary ED return visits.
