Firstly, the course has equipped me with skills in using critical thinking for problem identification making decisions about a problem, implementing the decision and perfuming an evaluation of the decision outcome after implementation. For example, in the America VS Iraq war the then president of America Bush through his thought process decided that Iraq posed a threat to the American people and stern actions had to be undertaken to curb this threat by sending American soldiers to Iraq (Secretary, 2002). This means that president Bush identified a problem, made a decision and implemented the decision. Later upon evaluating the consequences of the decision it is established that the decision was wrong because then was no evidence that Iraq was posing a threat to America and thus the president’s decision caused a lot of unwarranted damage to both Iraq and America (Koehler, 2008). Secondly, the editorial article identified discrimination against immigrants as a problem and attributed the problem to some racist republican leaders and the government for not ensuring equality for the small business immigrant owners. In this case, the republicans chose to discriminate against these small business immigrant owners. It is also worth noting that the writer did not fully unlike critical thinking as the article does not highlight any other factors that contribute to the perceived discrimination. In other terms, I would utilize the skills of critical thinking and substantive research to enlighten the process of decision making so that the decisions that are made are effective and impactful enough to achieve the intended objective that it was made for during the analysis of its implementation (Hussung, 2017) .
