Hello Class and Professor,

It is essential to know the strengths perspective when assisting a client/consumer because the strengths perspective allows people never to limit the trauma they have experienced. This also includes the problems they have faced, the obstacles, and the adversity.  The Strengths Perspective addresses the challenges people have faced and allows them to face new opportunities and motivate them for change. After I read “Marta” case study Marta exhibited some strengths. She is a very strong-willed person and she continued to use that strength throughout the case study. She had an accounting degree which allowed her to have an external resource which gave her an advantage. This will give her a great opportunity for new employment. If I was to help Marta in this case study, I would help her with the first new steps in life and embrace the new. I would be there as her support system to help her embrace the change. I would use her strengths as an advantage to her to help her overcome the struggle she is facing. “No other person ever has, or ever will have, the unique blend of talents, strengths, and perspectives that you have.” (Marie Forleo)
