Think back to the articles and literature you’ve read throughout the term so far. Remember their intended audiences. Choose a real-life, worldly problem you’d like to solve. Describe the problem in detail and discuss why you feel it’s important to solve this problem in this day and age. Point to at least two sources for support. Be sure to include in-text citations within your post from your two sources, as well as a Works Cited at the end. Finally, ensure your two sources are credible – try using some of the rhetorical analysis tactics we learned this week to help you determine your sources’ credibility.

Several studies have shown that in the long run, habitual exposure to media violence may reduce anxious arousal in response to depictions of violence. Research has found that the more time individuals spent watching violent media depictions, the less emotionally responsive they became toward violent stimuli and the less sympathy they showed for victims of violence in the real world. Discuss whether you do or do not believe this research and provide your reasoning for concurring or dissenting.

Why do visual elements help people remember more about what they are reading and seeing? Can you provide a real-world example you experienced in which personal retention of document content was enhanced by the inclusion of visual elements?

Discuss the role that slide backgrounds, pictures, shapes, and WordArt can play in the effectiveness of a presentation. Are there any disadvantages to using any of these visual elements? If yes, what are they?
