1. Why is globalization important for business? Name at least one reason and describe it. 2. Identify and describe one way that you might choose to take your business global? Please

explain your reasoning for your selection.

Globalization is an important part of business and has important impacts on business. It

has only recently become more of a plausible option and potential consideration. One reason that

globalization is important, according to Abrams (2016) is that it opens the door for increasing the

number of potential customers a business can serve. Before globalization, many companies were

limited to the customer base in their own geographically area. Globalization has increased the

opportunities to grow a business beyond geographical restrictions (Abrams, 2016). This is an

important consideration as technology continues to make globalization an easier option for those

going into business to consider. This does not necessarily mean that moving into the globalized

side of business ownership is an easy consideration.

When considering going global, there are a number of ways to do so. As Entrepreneur

(2017) noted, “Start your campaign to grow by international expansion by preparing an

international business plan to evaluate your needs and set your goals. It's essential to assess your

readiness and commitment to grow internationally before you get started.” (para. 12). Creating a

business plan, in this way, could help a business owner understand some of the options that they

might take to move their business from local to global. Entrepreneur (2017) noted that the

planning stage may reveal a strategy for exporting, for example. In exporting, a company can sell

its products to another country, which would be my selection. I chose exporting because I my

products are tailor-made for geographical communication issues in countries overseas that are

underdeveloped.
