HL7 (Health Level Seven) What HL7 (Health Level Seven) is:
HL7 (Health Level Seven) are a set of international standards used to transfer and share data between various healthcare providers (Noumeir, 2018). HL7 is a standard for exchanging information between medical applications. HL7 also bridges the gap between health information technology applications and makes healthcare data easier and efficient (Noomeir, 2018).
What HL7 used for:
1. HL7 Health Level Seven) standard defines and provides formats for messaging and data exchange.
2. HL7 rules syntax and common health data definitions in clinical documents in electronic health record (EHR) and personal health record (PHR).
3. HL7 claims attachments, quality reporting, product labels for prescription medications and clinical genomics.
