Introduction

Coca Cola Company is a multinational business company that has retail stores and offices in almost every corner of the world. The company is a business giant dealing with the manufacture and distribution of soft drinks. The Coca-Cola Company has a good business management set up in place as they have an organized their operations into six functioning alliances located in Africa and Eurasia, Latin America, Europe, Asia Pacific and Bottling Investments and North America. For the case of the Bottling Investments operational section, the system comprises of all consolidated or company-owned bottling operations. The following information table summarizes our principal production, distribution and storage facilities by operating segment and Corporate as of December 31, 2018: (UNITED STATES SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION Washington, 2018).

Problem and Risk Statement

Despite all these appealing paradigms, the company has faults such as insufficient visualization of their operations. There is a need for the company to have a good visualization system in place to help in monitoring and analyzing their business operations (He & Tang, 2012). Some of the challenges and risks that Coca-Cola faces are management identifying the demand to focus on their nonalcoholic commercial beverages segment in their company. Today’s consumer, public health authorities and government activities have a rising concern about the health complications connected to obesity; and other health-related public concerns due to the consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages; and additional governmental regulations concerning the marketing. There has been negative publicity concerning Coca- Cola’s sugar-sweetened beverages; that resulted to threatened legal actions against the company and other companies within their industry the suit focused on labeling or sale of sugar-sweetened beverages that could reduce the product demand, or increase the cost of, their sugar-sweetened beverages, which could unfavorably affect the organization profitability. Here you see where

sales dropped due to complaints of obesity from sugar in products

The data source

Under this task, the analysis of the Coca Cola company will be information and data collected from their websites. There is a need to analyze all the information based on their geographical locations and by so doing, the company will get to prioritize their ways of operations. It is under this idea that there is a need to understand the regions that the company excel more as well as the region where the company must increase their investments to gain dominance.

How the data was collected

The company has their annual reports and progresses as per their regions in their websites and are available for public use (He & Tang, 2012). Given the nature of the regions where the company has branches, retails and stores it is possible to see that there are areas under which the performs best whereas some regions do not have the ideal dominance. The company also collects their data from Product codes, Social Media, Al Powered vending machines, salesforce Al technology scanning known as Einstein, and collecting data from partnering with Disney.

Fields available in the data source

The fields available in the data source are the years under which the company operations and sales occurred, the volume of sales, the exact regions under which the company operates in and the amount of profits and losses incurred (https://www.coca-cola.com/). The analysis of these elements using graphs and other visual formats is appropriate in coming up with the reports on how to improve on the outcomes presented. The field of sales and external factors such as global issues are available. These sections help in understanding the performance of a product in a region is directly proportional to the issues surrounding that place.

Preliminary results of the data analysis

According to the annual records, the company has in their website, there are regions where the company is experiencing consistent profits, whereas there are other regions where there have been recurring losses. It is under these findings that the company need to restructure their operations to improve their dominance, more so in areas where they have less dominance (He & Tang, 2012). The regions stated shows how the company progresses, but the unsuccessful part is that there are areas where the operations are not consistent hence making it unclear for the company to settle their business strategy and operations.

Applying data analysis to the business problem

The charts and graphs in fig 1 and fig 2 clearly shows the trends that the company has in the stated regions and as such, basing on the findings, it is clear that the company has the task of visualizing the exact means that they have to use in addressing the regions where they have deficiencies (https://www.coca-cola.com/). It is under this graphs and charts that the company must use in prioritizing their investments and even move ahead in delivering as per the company’s projected profits. The need to invest in the regions with low dominance should be the driving factors into determining the exact regions that the company must increase their concentrations.

Recommendation

The company should ensure that they carry out comprehensive analysis on the regions and the volume of investments. For the regions with low profit turnout, the company can decide to re-strategize their operations, abandon their stores or increase their investments. The strategies and options that the company can adopt should be proportional to the amounts available and the objectives that the company has in such areas. The company should utilize their dominance in the regions where they are making more profits as a way of compensation for those regions where they are incurring losses. The company should further deploy software with the mind that there are threats and vulnerabilities that may affect their operations (Gupta, 2011).

The increase in the use of technologies in companies, parastatals and even in learning institutions has seen the rise in cybercrimes and cybercriminals. The activities of these cybercriminals keep getting more sophisticated with each passing day, and as such, the security of data needs a lot of enhancements. The criminals are finding all ways possible to circumvent security measures set by the users of technology with the aim of gaining access to sensitive personal and company data. Thus, the company should secure their systems and their IT infrastructure as a way of ensuring that their data are safe and accurate.

Course of action to resolve the business problem

The first move should be that the Coca Cola Company should adopt software and systems that will help them in understanding their performances in the regions as well as visualization system that can help in understanding the trends in the region. It is the need for sophisticated systems that will allow the company to focus in the regions of interest as well as the areas where they need to terminate their operations or change their business strategies (Gupta, 2011). The main aim is to ensure that they have dominance in the regions as well as established customer bases for them to know what is appropriate for their investments.
