DECISION MAKING 3

1. a. Identify the triggers or opportunity that is positioning the production plant manager into a situation of having to use the decision-making model to make a decision.

The triggers that make the manager of Perfect Palm Oil Company use decision-making model includes pressure from orangutan whose population is reducing as a result of deforestation, pollution from fine particles as a result of burning trees hence causing premature deaths and global warming. The society concerns ranging from goods retailers and manufacturers and environmentalists tried to provide their substantive commitments resources in regards to solving the problem thus making the plant manager come up with decision-making model to enable them to arrive an appropriate decision (Endangered Orangutans and the Palm Oil Industry, 2019).

b. Clearly, state the goal the production plantation manager wants the decision to achieve for PPO.

The production plantation manager has been given the responsibility by Abdul Tengku which involves handling CAPO protest. The production plantation manager also is supposed to give assurance to the stakeholder that the Perfect Palm Oil Company will proceed with manufacturing. The other pressure facing Perfect Palm Oil Company pertains criminal activities which have risen in the surrounding community. There have been occurrences of deaths, detentions and harassment from Liberia, Sayxche and Honduras based on the fact that people are against palm oil distribution harvest hence want to eliminate it. (Zuckerman & Zuckerman, 2017).Based on time dilemma that exists between growth and harvest of the palm trees on their various farms, a decision should be arrived at so as to get the appropriate producer of palm oil for United States customers while on the other hand ensuring that the plantation of Tengku is maintained. The decision to identify the appropriate producer of palm oil will ensure that the income of the company is preserved as the trees continue gestating. On the other hand, doing so will mean the whole dilemma pertaining to Tengku will not have been solved ("The Basics of the Decision-Making Process", 2019).

2.  a. Examine the following decision statement: which is the one you will be using for the MDQ model and case study:

In responding to CAPO’s attacks, how will PPO keep their customers and continue to make money? Discuss the validity of this decision statement.

As far as the MDQ model is a concern when the decision process is framed, further decision-making processes will be enhanced. The PPO should apply the component of “purpose for accomplishment” therefore saving various financial challenges and on the other hand discouraging the CAPO attacks being the present challenge within the economy hence being the important proponent during current issues to be solved in regards to appropriate resourcing commitment from retailers and manufacturers (Romm, 2019).

b. Why is this the correct decision statement for PPO? Why are the other possible decision statements incorrect? Defend and support your discussion. Your logic and argument must be clear and based on the MDQ model as well as the case study facts. If it is not supportable from the facts, it is not considered logical.

Despite the fact that this may not be the solution, reduction of terror aspect from the angry workers and CAPO who are behind their sole source of income, the customers of PPO will thus be feeling relieved and proceed with their normal business. In case the problems will be reduced or even done away with, an award of a certificate from the government will be made. This will, therefore, succeed if alternative Perfect Palm Oil Company producer will provide their aid during gestation time. Identifying alternative PPO, making payment of $1 million for the purposes of certification as well as increasing customers on contract without bothering is the economy will decline will ensure that the international product business of production is continuing. The only question will that will remain will be how will the manager of the plantation ensure that these daunting tasks are completed while appeasing all aspects? ("The Elements of Effective Decision Making by Peter F. Drucker", 2019).
