Hello Class and Professor,
A social worker is assigned different duties in the field of case management. A social worker who is specialized in this field may have the duty of assisting the clients in obtaining different resources, offering rapport, and advocating. The main job of the social worker in the case management field is to assist the client in a helping manner that leans toward the best interest of the client. Case management is known as a helping process. It is known as this because the worker helps assess, plan, monitor, and evaluate the services and options needed so the client can obtain these resources in the best interest of the client's needs. Case management allows the worker to focus individually on a client so they can provide the best possible outcome possible. Case management would be essential because it allows the social worker to access the problem to help them seek out the best possible solution. An example of this process would be you receiving a client who is currently homeless. It would be the social worker's responsibility to help them find shelter, food, and clothing for the client. They can work out long-term and short-term goals so they can continue to have housing, food, and clothing but the immediate action would be to find shelter for the client. The goal of the client and the social worker would be to collaborate so they can seek a solution on agreed terms.
