Week 3: Effective Leadership Communication in the 21st Century
This week, you will learn how to assess personal leadership communication strategies and preferences in real-world situations. You will focus on understanding the communication needs of several diverse groups of employees, including Generation X, Generation Z, and Millennials. You will understand how to apply various communication strategies/techniques to unique situations, allowing you to become a more effective leader.
Based on your analysis of the Learning Resources (readings, activities, and media), as well as your professional experience, you will develop a better understanding as a 21st-century leader how to effectively communicate with a broad range of individuals.
Learning Objectives
Students will:
· Identify multiple communication strategies that effectively relate to a broad range of ages
· Evaluate various communication strategies leaders can use to effectively inspire and motivate others
· Evaluate how you will use the concept of “The Golden Circle” to inspire and motivate others to follow your lead
· Assess your ability as a 21st century leader to remain flexible, innovative, grow from your own mistakes, and be bold enough to abandon unsuccessful communication strategies
